Village rethinks the airplane cabin as a close-knit community in the sky. Village is a family of furniture and monuments designed to be customizable and pliable, allowing airlines to create spaces that are small or large, private or open, depending on the user groups and the size of the aircraft.

This is a personal project Krishna developed and presented during his internship at Teague's revered aviation design studio located in Everett, Washington.

Home

A village is a close-knit community made up of homes.

A home can be adjusted to fit the needs and privacy of its residents.

The pliable mesh surface can be shaped to create localized, personal seats.

The mesh can also be unaltered, leaving a clean, open sofa for relaxing as a family.

Village is a conceptual project rethinking the posibilities for an airplane cabin in 20 years.

The CMF for this project is forward thinking, roughly 20 years out, for aviation spaces. Krishna combined contemporary aviation certified materials like (lightweight & fireproof) Nomex Honeycomb and (fireproof & noise dampening) Nomex wool with new materials to aviation like 3d knitted mesh and anti-bacterial Sharklet surfaces. This combination of functional aviation materials and advanced future materials as well as using brighter, natural colors for the furniture introduce a new softer and more sensorial atmosphere to the airplane cabin space.

This was a personal project Krishna worked on during his internship at Teague's revered aviation design studio in Everett, Washington, ultimately presenting it to the industrial design team.
